Compatibility/Stability Test Kit
This compatibility/stability test is a modified version of the ASTM D4740-94 method. The test methods list two separate procedures for predicting stability of residual fuel oil and the compatibility of residual fuel oil with a blend stock.

Zematra/Shell Spot Test Kit
The Zematra/Shell Spot Test Kit performs tests according to the SMS 2712-13 test method. This kit is used to predict the stability of residual fuel oil and to check the compatibility of the residual fuel oil with a blend stock. A similar procedure is described in ASTM D4740. The SMS method differs from the ASTM method in the fact that the sample is diluted with cetane prior to analysis and that the spot is washed with n-Heptane. The kit is a complete self-contained unit with stirrer, oven, filter unit, syringes, filter paper and solvents.
