Zematra Water In Oil Test Kit
This test kit enables you to determine the percentage of water in your lube oil and fuel oil. The test is performed by means of the ”Calcium Hydride Pressure Testvessel Method”. The value obtained can be used e.g. as a check on the lube oil separator, any water leakages and operation contamination. With the basic kit approx. 50 tests can be performed.
You can also use this test kit to SAVE money by checking the received bunker on their water content. As mentioned in the specs, bunkers are allowed to have 0,5 % of water, all % above this level can be claimed by the supplier.
Suppose you have bunkered 750 m/t of fuel and measured 1,7 % of water, in this case you received 9 m/t of water too much. (1.7%-0.5%x 750). And also you paid USD 2.250,00 for this water assuming a bunker price of USD 250,00 per m/t. In case of a dispute, please be aware that the water percentage always has to be checked by an official laboratory.

WIO200 Water-in-Oil Sensor
The WIO200 Water-in-Oil sensor provides continuous monitoring of the entire lubricant oil volume, providing early warning of high levels of water content that could damage the machine. In applications such as marine engines or other machinery where water might be present, problems associated with water include corrosion of machine parts, a reduction in the oil’s ability to withstand pressure, emulsification, and leaching of oil additives.
When water in the lubricating oil is detected early, maintenance personnel can intervene before any damage is done, preventing expensive accidents.The WIO200 water-in-oil sensor measures water/moisture in oil, by measuring the relative humidity and water activity.[/vc_column_text]
The WIO200 sensor was developed for monitoring marine engines, and meets the standards of MAN Diesel & Turbo Copenhagen. It is also Germanischer Lloyd Type approved. But there will be applications in any condition monitoring system where there is the potential for water to contaminate lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, diesel, etc.
The sensor is available with an associated terminal box. The terminal box provides power to the sensor, links the sensor to any external condition monitoring system, and provides a local visual indication of the water level in the oil.
